Welcome to Abbey Nursery School
Abbey Nursery School was established in 1980. Our aim is to develop a happy, caring, organised, secure and stimulating environment for you and your child. We aim to help your child to develop an imaginative, creative and enquiring mind in capacity for independent and co-operative playing and learning. We value and respect each child as an individual and aim to develop each child’s understanding and regard for the rights, beliefs and cultures of others. Our nursery ethos is to ensure that the nursery’s atmosphere is welcoming, supportive and to value the beliefs and cultures of all children and their parents.
We believe in a calm, disciplined and caring atmosphere where common sense, courtesy and respect for one’s self, parents, staff and others are equally valued.
Our most recent Ofsted inspection took place in March 2022 and we were identified as ‘GOOD’. The report is available to read online on the Ofsted website.

Holidays
The nursery opens term time only
Fees are not payable during nursery holidays. Fees are to be paid in full during term time including bank holidays that occur during term time, stated below.
The nursery may very occasionally close at short notice for all part time children if the church has to use the hall for a funeral. We will aim to operate a full day as normal as possible in the back rooms for the full time children only. Parents will be informed as early as possible about any such arrangements.
